After being allocated more than $340 million by the Rebuild Illinois capital plan, Pace Suburban Bus selected STV to provide program management services for a new Priority Project Management Office. The assignment includes design oversight, construction planning, implementation, administration, and assistance in establishing best practices for eight upcoming facility projects. These facility projects include new bus maintenance facilities, multimodal transportation centers, parking lot extensions, and upgrades that will accommodate compressed natural gas vehicles.
A key project within this program was STV’s planning support of Pace’s Project Zero – the agency’s plan to transition 100 percent of its bus fleet to zero-emissions technology. STV’s team helped develop the transition plan, looking at facilities, vehicles and other infrastructure.
Additionally, the firm created a project charter, providing the framework and support crucial to the delivery of Pace’s Priority Capital Projects. STV’s implementation strives to improve reporting, budgets, submittals, change management, and schedules that will anticipate needs, show trends, and allow for more streamlined business processes.
