PhilaPort Cruise Terminal

STV is delivering fast-tracked design and construction monitoring services for the $20 million Port of Philadelphia (PhilaPort) Cruise Terminal, supporting an accelerated delivery schedule for a new cruise facility adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport. Delivered under STV’s longstanding architect/engineer (A/E) task order with PhilaPort, the project enabled early construction start and rapid mobilization to meet the port’s operational and strategic goals. The new terminal is designed to support secure, efficient passenger processing while positioning PhilaPort to expand cruise activity and strengthen its role in the regional economy.

What challenges is STV addressing?

The project required delivering a build-ready design on an accelerated schedule while coordinating with multiple federal agencies and private partners. The design balanced strict federal security requirements with cruise operations, nearby energy infrastructure and the constraints of an active port environment. The terminal’s 16-acre site adjacent to Philadelphia International Airport adds further logistical complexity.

What solutions is STV delivering?

STV provided fast-tracked design services under its existing A/E task order, enabling rapid mobilization and early construction. Designed for secure and efficient passenger processing integrated into existing port infrastructure, the terminal also accounts for future Phase 2 development, allowing the port to scale capacity as cruise demand continues to increase.

STV’s construction management team is also providing construction monitoring services, maintaining continuity from design through delivery and helping manage risk during construction.

How will this project benefit the community/region/market?

The new cruise terminal supports PhilaPort’s strategic plan to diversify beyond cargo operations by expanding cruise activity, improving the passenger experience and strengthening the port’s contribution to the regional economy – all while enabling secure and efficient operations in a complex port setting.
