As the County of Rockland, NY, Public Transportation Division embarked on a bus procurement program to replace its aging bus vehicles, the county called on STV to provide comprehensive services for the program.
The firm’s vehicle procurement team prepared specifications for procuring paratransit vehicles and 35- and 40-foot-long transit buses, technical support for the county’s transportation unit, and analysis support for double-decker buses to be used on the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Through its partnership with the county, STV also reviewed and revised the operating contract that the county will use to select its operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor for its bus fleet. STV integrated a significant number of operational parameters into the specifications so that revenue service performance indicators, data, trends and observations were accurately reflected in the next O&M contract requirements.
