Seattle Center Monorail Station Upgrades

The 0.9-mile Seattle Center Monorail system is a major tourist attraction. Originally built for the 1962 World’s Fair, the service carries about two million passengers a year and travels along 5th Avenue connecting downtown Seattle with Seattle Center. Its Seattle Center Station terminus is adjacent to the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Climate Pledge Arena and Memorial Station.

On behalf of Seattle Center, STV is providing program management and construction management services for procurement, ADA upgrades, safety improvements and architectural enhancements at the Seattle Center Monorail terminal stop and its 74-acre campus.

As part of its scope, STV is developing General Contractor/Construction Manager procurement strategies and is providing preconstruction support, including Request for Qualifications document creation, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, risk management, cost analysis and budget and schedule reconciliation. The team is also coordinating compliance with Federal Transit Administration requirements and working closely with the Seattle Center project manager to deliver this program.

Upgrading a historic landmark and major tourist attraction that connects the Seattle community.
