As the New York City Department of Education implements its universal Pre-K program throughout the boroughs, the New York City School Construction Authority was charged with identifying and converting existing spaces into new Pre-K facilities.
STV provided construction management services for two new Richmond Pre-K Centers in Staten Island under an accelerated 180-day contract term. Converting a 16,000-square-foot retail shopping center space into the new Richmond Pre-K Center at Forest Avenue, STV coordinated with the project designer, general contractor and subcontractors to create an educational space outfitted with 10 classrooms, an indoor gym, full kitchen and office spaces for administration, school nurse and custodians. The facilities are also fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
