Sound Transit’s University Link extension connects Seattle’s Downtown, Capitol Hill and University of Washington districts via a new 3.2-mile underground light rail line.
STV provided construction management for systems for the rail extension, overseeing a general contractor/construction manager and three electrical contractor/construction manager teams, as well as subcontractors who designed and constructed new systems within the stations for wayside equipment, while also retrofitting various elements within the existing alignment. Additionally, STV collaborated with contractors and other consultants to integrate systems software and hardware into the new tunnels and stations and interface the technology with the existing 13-station Central Link system between downtown Seattle and SeaTac Airport.
