Vallejo Transit Center

Designed to emulate clipper sails and a steamliner stack, the Vallejo Transit Center celebrates the Bay Area city’s rich maritime history while heralding its economic resurgence. The City of Vallejo chose STV to design a $8.7 million signature project as part of its downtown revitalization effort and help bolster ridership on the Baylink Ferry.

STV developed a plan to relocate existing transit operations, reconfigure the city’s downtown parking, and create a walkway linking the downtown district to the ferry. The completed Transit Center includes a center-island platform with 12 bus bays shaded by six white tensile membrane canopies. The project also included a landscaped promenade and the design of a new 4,500 square foot, two-story support and public information building.
