Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ global headquarters previously occupied 700,000 square feet across 11 different buildings in Cambridge, MA. For its complex move to a new location in South Boston’s Innovation District, STV provided move sequencing planning for the six-month relocation to two connected buildings spanning 14 floors.
The new Fan Pier campus encompasses 1.1 million square feet, housing Vertex’s advanced biotech research and manufacturing facility for its gene and cell therapies. STV’s intricate transition planning scope included purge initiative, relocation planning, implementation and decommissioning of offices, and GMP, GLP, vivarium and rad labs, and implementation of an Access database tool specifically for biotech equipment inventories.
