Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project

New water supplies were vital to keep the City of San Antonio moving forward as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. The Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project (VRRSP) successfully met the San Antonio Water System’s objectives of diversifying water sources, providing water security, and meeting the needs of a rapidly growing community by utilizing an innovative public-private partnership (P3) to supply 20 percent more water for the region, equating to up to 16.3 billion gallons annually for the next 30 years and beyond.

At the time of its completion, the VRRSP was the largest P3 water project in North America. The project consists of a well field in Burleson County, three booster pump stations, four ground storage tanks, and a 142-mile transmission pipeline that conveys potable water from Burleson County to San Antonio, Texas.

CP&Y , an STV company, developed program design standards, specifications and details, route study, preparation of easement documents, pipeline design, coordination and incorporation of hydraulic and surge protection recommendations, constructability review, and construction phase services. Extensive permitting,  project surveying and subsurface utility engineering investigations was also performed.
