The City of San Antonio is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. Keeping the city moving forward required an innovative approach to its vital water supply. The Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project (VRRSP) is diversifying water sources, providing water security and meeting the needs of a rapidly growing community.
At completion, the VRRSP was the largest P3 water project in North America, supplying 20 percent more water for the region, equaling up to 16.3 billion gallons annually for the next 30 years and beyond. In recognition of its impact, the project was honored by the American Council of Engineering Companies in Texas as the best engineering project in the state.
STV developed program design standards, specifications and details, route study, preparation of easement documents, pipeline design, coordination and incorporation of hydraulic and surge protection recommendations, fiber design, constructability review and construction phase services. Extensive permitting, project surveying and subsurface utility engineering investigations were also performed.
