As part of a larger capital improvement plan for the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD), five junior high campuses were converted to middle school facilities.
STV, in joint venture, provided construction management services for additions and renovations to Walters Junior High School. The project included the modernization of 10 existing classroom buildings as well as the construction of three new classroom buildings in preparation for the addition of a 6th grade student population.
STV oversaw a detailed schedule to facilitate and expedite all phases of construction. The firm also played a significant role in facilitating the assessment and containment of naturally occurring contaminants found in the soil. Working with several government organizations, STV served as a facilitator between FUSD, designers and environmental organizations to update the project’s design, accelerate permitting and mitigate any risks to the student population.
