STV Appoints Angel Peña as Vice President for Rail and Transit in Texas/Mountain Region

AUSTIN, TX – STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that Angel Peña has joined the firm as vice president, rail and transit leader, for the firm’s Transportation Texas/Mountain Region operating group. In this role, Peña will focus on overseeing client relationships and leading STV’s transportation expansion in the Lone Star State – from client services and financial performance to project oversight.

Prior to STV, Peña dedicated more than 15 years to developing business strategy at the national, regional and local levels with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and District Department of Transportation. Most recently, he served in a multimodal transportation agency and performed system oversight for a transit system with one of the largest riderships in the country.

Peña is a graduate of Universidad Yacambu in Venezuela, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He also earned his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. He is an active member of American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and a graduate of the 2017 APTA Leadership Class.

STV has a long history of successful projects in the transit, highway and aviation sectors. The company has successfully completed projects in every major metropolitan region in Texas including Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin. The firm supported system-wide upgrades for the Houston Metropolitan Transit Authority’s New Starts light rail transit system and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Light Rail Transit System. The firm also accomplished major milestones for TxDOT on each segment of the Capital Expressway improvement projects, including final plans delivery of CapEx South, planning for CapEx North and schematic and environmental support for CapEx Central. Other key projects in Austin include US 290 Toll and SH 130 interchange and State Highway 45SW, a high-profile, award-winning TxDOT initiative.
