A Tradition of Care: STV Employees Give Back During the Thanksgiving Season

For STV’s employees across the country, Thanksgiving is about more than just turkey and pie – it’s an opportunity to give back and support local families in need. From Glasgow, Kentucky, to Hartford and Wallingford, Connecticut, STV teams have embraced the season with meaningful volunteer efforts that make a tangible difference in their communities.

In Glasgow, the team’s annual Thanksgiving meal drive remained a highlight of the season. Partnering with the local school districts’ Family Resource Service Centers, employees assembled and delivered 82 meal boxes this year, each filled with everything needed for a full and comforting Thanksgiving dinner. Volunteers ordered, unloaded, sorted and packed the items in a well-coordinated assembly line, reflecting a tradition strengthened each year by staff who return not just to help, but to connect with their community.

“I always look forward to helping with this each year,” said Amanda Medley, proposal coordinator for STV’s marketing team. “Every box represents a family who might not have a Thanksgiving meal otherwise, and being part of that support is powerful. I hope these boxes bring comfort, hope and a reminder that someone is thinking of them.”

Cassie Kinslow, CAD technician, served as the primary coordinator between STV and the local schools, working closely with each Family Resource Service Center to make sure each meal box was thoughtfully prepared and delivered with care. “Generosity isn’t just about giving, it’s about connection,” she said. “Together, we’re not only filling plates, but also filling hearts and hope.”

For Amber McClanahan, senior accountant, helping to order, sort, pack and deliver each box demonstrated how meaningful the team’s work can be. “So many families go without,” she said. “With the help of our teammates, we can help alleviate some of that stress during the holiday season.”

In Connecticut, the STV team continued its ongoing partnership with Connecticut Foodshare, a member of the Feeding America network of food banks and an STV client. On a recent Charitable Day at Foodshare’s Wallingford facility, employees sorted donated produce and packed 5,740 pounds of food – equivalent to 4,783 meals – for families across the region. Any spoiled produce was repurposed and donated to local pig farmers, ensuring nothing went to waste.

“Volunteering at Foodshare reminds us that the impact we have extends far beyond our offices and projects,” said Sandra Stavola, vice president at STV. “Every box packed, every pound of food sorted, translates into hope and comfort for families across Connecticut. I’m proud to see our team bringing our skills, energy and compassion to support our neighbors when they need it most.”
