STV’s Hartford, CT, team recently volunteered at Connecticut Foodshare, a member of the Feeding America network of food banks and an STV client. STV is providing project management services for the organization as it expands its warehouse in Wallingford, CT.

During their volunteer shift, the team sorted 15,312 pounds of food into 360 boxes to feed 12,000 families. The food was distributed at pop-up pantries at Seymour Oxford Food Bank to support communities impacted by recent historic flooding.

Connecticut Foodshare supports individuals and families across the state by addressing root causes, creating long-term solutions, and distributing nutritious food through local partner programs to alleviate hunger.

“This volunteer event not only made our local community better by sorting food for those in need, but it also was an opportunity for us to support the mission of one of our clients,” said Angela Cahill, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, LEED AP, an STV project executive. “It is amazing knowing that the boxes we prepared will directly impact the lives of 12,000 families.”
