STV Area Manager Rhandi Gallegos, PE, LEED AP, M.Jd., has been named as one of Engineering Georgia magazine’s “100 Most Influential Women in Georgia Engineering.”

In its March/April issue, the publication highlighted 100 women who are making Georgia a better place to live, work, and play through industry contributions and achievements. This is Gallegos’ seventh time receiving this recognition, appearing on the list yearly since 2018.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to be included on this list of amazing women, many of whom pioneered engineering careers and shattered glass ceilings throughout our industry,” Gallegos said. “When I started my career, I was often the only female in the room. To see the progress we’ve made is extremely gratifying.”

Gallegos has over 25 years of civil engineering and project management experience, most of which were spent at AEI, an STV Company. She has a demonstrated history of success leading public and private projects encompassing land development, hydraulic engineering center-river analysis system (HEC-RAS), transportation engineering, and stormwater analysis. Over the last five years, she has transitioned from the more technical side of engineering to risk management.

She also values giving back to the industry. She is a founding member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Georgia’s Women in the Workforce Committee, which helps mentor and promote women in the industry; sits on the University of Kentucky College of Engineering’s Civil Engineering Industry Advisory Committee; serves as vice president for the Georgia Engineering Foundation; volunteers for Georgia Tech’s Exploring Engineering Academy Camp; and is a member of the Atlanta chapters of the National Association of Women in Construction and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) organizations.

“I was so fortunate to have a wonderful mentor early in my career who showed me that I could have a family and a career without sacrificing one or the other,” Gallegos said. “I am very intentional in mentoring my colleagues to help them carve a career path that works for them both professionally and personally.”

In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, she recently earned a Master of Jurisprudence with an emphasis in risk management from Texas A&M University School of Law.
