Jon Helhowski Joins STV as Vice President & Chief Mechanical Engineer

DOUGLASSVILLE, PA – Jon Helhowski, P.E., LEED® AP, a highly experienced engineer who has worked across a broad swath of market areas, has joined STV as vice president and chief mechanical engineer. He will be based in the firm’s Douglassville, PA, office where he will lead mechanical engineering efforts for STV’s Buildings & Facilities Division (B&F).

For more than 35 years, Helhowski has provided HVAC, ATC controls, plumbing and fire protection, and other associated engineering design services for projects within the institutional, aviation, healthcare, research and development, industrial and commercial market areas.

“Jon’s arrival is a key hire for our division as he has the professional and technical experience to help serve STV’s diverse client base,” said Jon Miller, AIA, LEED® AP, executive vice president of the B&F Division.

Prior to joining STV, Helhowski was the lead mechanical engineer at a global architectural/engineering firm, where he managed the plumbing and HVAC design for a number of projects such as a new library currently under construction at Temple University, a new Medical Office Building at Penn Medicine, and the West Chester University Commons Building.

Helhowski also co-founded his own engineering firm and served as chief engineer there for nearly 20 years. Helhowski is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Maryland. Additionally he has been trained and certified by the Investigative Engineers Association in Forensic Engineering for the property and casualty insurance industry.

Helhowski has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland and is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, National Fire Protection Association and the Investigative Engineer’s Association.
