STV’s Transportation West Region team recently gave back to the community by volunteering at Project Angel Food, a local nonprofit in Los Angeles dedicated to providing free meals to individuals facing life-threatening illnesses who are unable to manage shopping and cooking on their own.
Nine STV employees joined forces to prepare and package nutritious meals that were subsequently distributed to Project Angel Food’s clients across the Los Angeles region. Since its inception in 1989, the organization has delivered over 17 million meals to over 28,000 people, making a profound impact on the city’s communities.

“Our purpose as an organization is to make communities better, so the opportunity to give back to Los Angeles truly underscores our commitment to serving people,” said Liz Justison, president of the transportation west group.
During the volunteer session, the team learned more about Project Angel Food’s mission to provide 3,000 daily, healthy meals for clients from Monday through Friday. During the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the organization became a lifeline for Los Angeles residents impacted by the disease.
