Alongside United Airlines and the Houston Airport System, STV’s project management and construction management (PM/CM) team is celebrating a key milestone in the $2.55 billion Terminal B Transformation Program at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

The topping-out of the new Terminal B North concourses marks the halfway point in the structural phase of the redevelopment, one of the most significant modernization efforts in the airport’s history. STV’s role encompasses early planning through construction oversight, supporting the transformation of one of the busiest airport terminals in the U.S.

The North Concourse celebration, organized by one of the project’s CM at Risk contractors, Manhattan Construction Company, followed a separate topping-out ceremony held earlier this year at the Processor site, another major component of the Terminal B program. Clark Construction Group’s team led that celebration.

During the recent North Concourse event, more than 1,800 workers and stakeholders signed the ceremonial steel beam before it was lifted into place, marking a pivotal step toward completing the 764,000-square-foot facility.

Scheduled to finish in fall 2026, Terminal B will feature a new gate concourse with 22 narrow-body aircraft gates, expanded passenger processing facilities and significant utility and airfield paving work. Enhancements include flexible gates for wide and narrow body aircraft, upgraded technology, improved wayfinding, the largest United Club in the network and increased space for retail and amenities. The baggage claim area will double in size, and curbside operations will triple, significantly enhancing capacity and passenger experience.

“STV is proud to be part of the PM/CM team guiding this complex program to success,” said Charles McArdle, project executive. “Our teams have been involved throughout multiple phases, from planning to execution, supporting stakeholder coordination, quality assurance and construction oversight.”
