SEATTLE, WA – STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that it has signed a contract with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to provide comprehensive engineering and advisory services to progress the agency’s statewide Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Program Plan. The task order agreement spans five years with the potential for an extension at the state’s discretion.

WSDOT’s TSMO plan aspires to enhance the safety, reliability, equity and sustainability of the department’s existing and future transportation systems. STV’s contract encompasses possible work assignments across all facets of TSMO’s five pillar elements:

  1. Planning, partnering and policy development
  2. Transportation operations
  3. Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
  4. Transportation demand management (TDM)
  5. Smart and emerging technologies

“We are excited to collaborate with WSDOT and committed to contributing meaningfully to the success of the department as well as the communities benefiting from the TSMO plan across the state,” said Ted Bailey, P.E., project manager and director of government technology solutions at STV.

STV and WSDOT are aligned in their commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), with a shared focus on ensuring the state’s transportation system serves all Washingtonians.

“Partnership is a core value at STV, and we eagerly anticipate working alongside WSDOT and our partners as one cohesive team,” said Liz Justison, P.E., PMP, president of the transportation west group at STV. “Being one of the first AEC firms to sign the Equity in Infrastructure Project pledge, our commitment to DEI extends to both the way we structure our project teams and the way we provide innovative transportation solutions through an equity-focused lens.”

STV provides comprehensive advisory services to help clients create a more efficient, user-friendly and environmentally sustainable transportation network. The firm’s rapidly expanding national mobility technologies team specializes in emerging mobility solutions, including ITS as well as electric, connected and automated vehicles. The service area at STV has a proven track record of successful partnerships with transit operators nationwide, including an award-winning effort to introduce mobile electric charging at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport. More recently, the team supported the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s (PANYNJ) first autonomous vehicle (AV) shuttle at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County’s (METRO) brand new, state-of-the-art AV shuttle service FutureLink in Houston, Texas.
