NEW YORK, NY – STV today announced that Vijo Cherian, AICP, CA, has joined the firm as vice president and national cities practice leader within its buildings group, where he will expand the firm’s urban redevelopment and transit-oriented development work across the U.S. His appointment comes as cities accelerate investment in complex, mixed-use development projects driven by public funding and private-sector demand.
Cherian will help scale STV’s cities-focused planning, design and development work within its buildings group, enhancing how the firm delivers complex redevelopment efforts in key markets. He will partner with public- and private-sector clients to help move projects from planning into delivery and lead large-scale project execution nationwide, guiding projects from vision through implementation.

Cherian brings more than 25 years of experience as an architect, planner and urban designer, leading major redevelopment projects across the U.S. and globally. His portfolio includes waterfront redevelopments, downtown revitalizations and mixed-use districts in New York, Washington, D.C., Toronto and Shanghai. He has led multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle, from planning and approvals to delivery, with a focus on creating walkable, connected urban environments.
