Liz Staryak, PE, CCM, senior project manager at STV, received the 2024 20 Under 40 Outstanding Woman in Construction Award from the Professional Women in Construction (PWC) in New York. The annual awards program honors 20 emerging leaders who are excelling in their careers within the engineering and construction industry. Staryak and her fellow award winners will be celebrated by PWC NY in December.

“Being recognized by PWC-NY is a true honor,” said Staryak. “I am proud to contribute to projects that improve transportation and connectivity for millions of people. Every project is a chance to support our communities across New York and the Northeast, which is why I love what I do.”

Staryak joined STV in 2023 and boasts over 15 years of experience providing project management and resident engineering inspection services for major infrastructure projects throughout the New York Metropolitan area. She is part of the STV-Naik joint venture delivering construction management services for Amtrak’s East River Tunnel rehabilitation project. The project is set to modernize and restore crucial infrastructure along the Northeast Corridor that was damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

“Liz has made her mark on New York’s infrastructure so early in her career, and I’m thrilled to see her work recognized by PWC-NY,” said Marilisa Stigliano, MBA, PMP, DBIA, senior vice president and STV’s financial planning and analysis lead, and board member of PWC New York. “She reflects STV’s shared purpose of making communities better through her professional and personal work, in alignment with PWC’s mission to support, advance and mentor women in the AEC industry; this award is well-deserved.”

Staryak earned a master’s in business administration from NYU Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She currently serves as the director-at-large and the building work group chair for the New York Junior League, volunteers as a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and participates in NYU Stern’s alumni group.
