STV’s executive leadership team joined local employees in Charlotte to volunteer at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHMETROLINA), reinforcing the firm’s commitment to supporting the communities where it lives and works.

During their shift, a group of 22 STV team members sorted through countless pallets and boxes of essential supplies – including toiletries, medications, baby products, pet food, cleaning supplies and household goods – helping ensure these items reach individuals and families in need across the Carolinas.

“As we continue to strengthen our presence in the Carolinas, we’re proud to give back to the local communities we serve,” said Jerry Stump, PE, president of the Transportation South/Central group at STV. “STV leadership continues to come together to support nonprofits focused on food security, and it’s inspiring to see our executive and local teams work side by side to make a meaningful impact.”

SHMETROLINA provides food and household items to individuals in need through a network of more than 950 charitable partner agencies, including soup kitchens, emergency pantries, homeless shelters and low-income daycare centers. The organization serves 24 counties across North and South Carolina, distributing over 88 million pounds of food and household goods annually while also offering training, technical assistance and hunger education to its partners.

“Access to nutritious food is a fundamental need, and organizations like Second Harvest play a vital role in supporting families across the Carolinas,” said Claire Brinkley, PE, AICP, vice president and Charlotte area manager. “Being able to step in, even for a few hours, to help sort and distribute essential goods is a meaningful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together to support our communities.”

STV’s volunteers included: Jeremy Boswell, Claire Brinkley, Luis Delgado, Marcos Díaz González, Chris Haney, Garo Hovnanian, Liz Justison, Greg Kelly, Chuck Kohler, Anita Macaluso, Joseph Marchiafava, Beth Miller, Jacqueline Opal, Ryan Owen, Michael Panarese, Roma Parikh, John Ponzio, JJ Roohms, Katie Curry, Chris Statham, Jerry Stump and Kristen Van Gilst.
