STV Welcomes John Dalton to Lead Transformative Gateway Trans-Hudson Partnership

Published

NEW YORK — STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that John Dalton has joined the firm as senior vice president and senior project director for the Gateway Trans-Hudson Partnership. In this role, Dalton is leading the consortium of consultants delivering the Hudson Tunnel Project – a key element of the Gateway Program between New Jersey and New York, and one of the largest infrastructure initiatives in the country.

“John brings extraordinary program and project management skills that will benefit the delivery of one of the most critical infrastructure projects in the nation,” said Marcos Díaz González, executive vice president and director of STV’s Centers of Excellence. “He will add value to our clients, stakeholders and delivery partners, while exemplifying STV’s promise to make our communities better through innovative solutions that will elevate the infrastructure needed to support commuters throughout the Northeast corridor.”

The Gateway program is a comprehensive rail investment program that will improve reliability, resiliency and capacity along a 10-mile stretch of the Northeast Corridor between Newark, New Jersey and Penn Station in New York City. STV is part of the joint venture advancing preliminary engineering plans to support the planned tunnel.

Before starting his more than 20-year career in the industry, Dalton served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. After leaving the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander, he accepted a position at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as the chief of staff of the infrastructure division, and later as a project manager for the authority’s Brown Line Capacity Expansion Project – the authority’s largest ever capital project at that time. Following his tenure at CTA, he joined Parsons Transportation Group in the United Arab Emirates supporting the Dubai Metro project before returning to the United States and the CTA.  He later joined the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority where he was the program manager for the $2.3 billion Green Line Extension Design-Build project.

Dalton graduated from Davidson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and has a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.

STV has a long-standing track recording providing a wide range of engineering design, program management and project management services in support of transformative transportation infrastructure programs nationwide. Marquee projects include Grand Central Madison in New York, the CATS Blue Line Light Rail Extension in Charlotte, and Houston METRORail Light Rail.
