DART Light Rail Transit System Phase I and II

STV was instrumental in bringing the first two phases of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) system to the growing Dallas metropolitan region. In joint venture, the firm provided program management, design and construction management services for the $1 billion Phase I build-out of the system, consisting of 13 stations over a 25-mile route. The joint venture oversaw all civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering activities, as well as architectural design activities, and other activities related to the design production work for the program.

Subsequently, the firm, again, in joint venture, provided these services for Phase II of the light rail program. An ambitious project, Phase II more than doubled the system, adding 46 miles of track and 26 new stations in only eight years. The joint venture was responsible for the initial design of all facilities infrastructure for the project, including ballasted, direct fixation, and embedded track, bridges, utilities and grade crossings. The team also performed final design and construction management of the Green Line, a new, 28-mile guideway from Pleasant Grove to Carrollton.
