Envision My Ride is a planning initiative to redesign and upgrade the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus system’s structure and service frequency, as well as improve other standards of service to better serve the community. STV, as a subconsultant to Kittelson & Associates, Inc. is developing recommendations for improvements that will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The firm is also providing cost estimation services to assist CATS with budgeting for and prioritizing the improvements in a comprehensive ADA transition plan. As this project progresses through planning and design phases, the study’s recommendations will include dedicated bus only lanes, increased amenities at bus stops, and mobility hub recommendations that may include park and rides and transfer facilities.
