New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge Administration Building Expansion

The New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge Administration Building is a critical operations hub for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, which owns and manages 20 bridges between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. To modernize the facility and support efficient daily operations, STV provided on-site leadership and construction management services for a full renovation of the existing 21,600-square-foot building and the construction of a new 6,030-square-foot addition. The expanded facility improves public access, enhances operational capability and extends the long‑term functionality of this important administrative center.

What challenges did STV address?

The existing facility required structural, mechanical and accessibility upgrades to meet current operational and public‑facing needs. Enhancing ADA accessibility, reconfiguring internal circulation and modernizing building systems all needed to be delivered while minimizing disruptions to ongoing Commission activities. Site constraints also required careful planning for the parking lot expansion and utility upgrades.

What solutions did STV deliver?

STV oversaw all construction management activities, including contract administration, field inspection and coordination with contractors and Commission staff. The new addition features an ADA‑compliant entrance connecting the parking area to a refurbished, code‑compliant elevator. STV also managed the expansion of the parking lot by 9,800 square feet and the replacement of major HVAC equipment. Power distribution upgrades were designed to accommodate increased system loads and support long‑term reliability.

How does this project benefit the community?

The renovated and expanded building provides safer, more accessible public access and improves the daily operations of a critical regional agency. Enhanced building systems, modernized infrastructure and expanded capacity support smoother tolling operations and better service for the millions of drivers who rely on Commission facilities.
