Ocean Charter School is the only tuition-free Waldorf-informed charter school in the Los Angeles area and the largest of its kind in the country. For many years, the school was separated into two campuses: a campus in Del Rey, CA, for kindergarten through third-grade students, and a Westchester, CA, campus for fourth- through eighth-grade students.
The new Ocean Charter School unites two campuses in one location, serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. STV performed a comprehensive range of construction management services for the 55,000 square feet of new buildings and 26,000 square feet of underground parking. Students can now learn, play and engage with each other at these new facilities, including a rooftop learning garden and a performing arts center. The project included the demolition of existing industrial buildings and the dewatering of the site due to its proximity to the Ballona Wetlands.
