The four‑story, 100,000‑square‑foot Charles E. Shain Library at Connecticut College underwent a transformative renovation to modernize one of the campus’s key academic resources. The project introduced a striking new glass façade in place of portions of the original concrete exterior, added a 600‑square‑foot entrance expansion and reimagined the interior with new study spaces, reading rooms, a Technology Commons and an upgraded Digital Scholarship and Curriculum Center. A 24‑hour café and study zone, along with a new outdoor plaza, further enhanced student access and campus engagement.
