South Street Elementary School

As part of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority’s (NJSDA) statewide initiative to improve K‑12 public school facilities, STV provided construction management services for the new South Street Elementary School in Newark, New Jersey. The three‑story, 103,000‑square‑foot school occupies nearly a full city block and serves more than 650 students from pre‑kindergarten through eighth grade. The building includes 29 general classrooms, two science labs, a computer and technology lab, small‑group instruction rooms, a rooftop outdoor science learning center, world languages and art rooms, instrumental and vocal music spaces, a media center, a cafeteria, a multipurpose room and a full gymnasium. Exterior site work created accessible community spaces, recreation areas, fencing, landscaping and parking.
