St. Joseph’s Health Network Renovations

For nearly a decade, STV has served as an in‑house extension of St. Joseph’s Health, providing project management staff augmentation across its extensive healthcare network in New Jersey. Through this long‑term partnership, STV has overseen a wide range of renovations, expansions and upgrades, supporting both academic medical facilities and the state‑designated Level II trauma center. From enhancing emergency care environments to expanding specialized treatment spaces, STV’s services have helped St. Joseph’s continue delivering high‑quality care to its growing patient population.

What challenges did STV address?

St. Joseph’s required coordinated management across multiple active medical campuses, each with its own clinical, logistical and operational constraints. Renovations needed to occur without disrupting patient care, including high‑traffic environments such as infusion centers, women and children’s units and a medical center that serves more than 150,000 patients annually. The challenge also included aligning project schedules, construction phasing and relocations across a diverse network of facilities.

What solutions did STV deliver?

STV provided comprehensive owner’s project management services, overseeing expansions at the Children’s Hospital in Paterson, including infusion, women’s and children’s services, and new administrative space. At St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center, STV guided the expansion of the lobby, ambulatory areas and medical office building, alongside a major renovation and expansion of the Emergency Department. Responsibilities included FF&E coordination, relocation and occupancy planning and day‑to‑day construction oversight to ensure smooth facility transitions.

How does this project benefit the region and community?

These upgrades strengthen one of New Jersey’s premier healthcare networks by enhancing clinical environments, expanding treatment capacity and improving patient experience. The work supports faster, more efficient care delivery while enabling St. Joseph’s to meet increasing community healthcare needs across its multi‑campus system.
