The Uplands Redevelopment in West Baltimore includes over 750 dwellings for Baltimore residents across a variety of income levels. The site is also a pioneer in the city, containing Baltimore’s first green alley system which features porous paving with a below-grade gravel reservoir.
STV provided planning, civil engineering, landscape design, and construction administration services for the redevelopment program. STV designed more than five miles of new public roads and alleys, along with the associated utility systems to support the new infrastructure’s development, estimated at $50 million.
The firm worked with the Baltimore Department of Transportation, Baltimore Gas & Electric, Verizon, Comcast, the Department of Public Works, and the Baltimore City Wastewater Analyzer’s Office to establish design parameters and coordinate new sanitary sewer systems for utility design and stormwater runoff.
