The Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital is a 428,000-square-foot psychiatric treatment complex designed to enhance the patient experience by providing a normative living environment.
On behalf of the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance, STV coordinated and supervised the phased delivery and installation of 7,500 pieces of furniture, fixtures and equipment to the facility, which replaced the former Worcester State Hospital. The scope involved the inspection and load-in for three months.
Throughout the process, STV coordinated with the entire project team to work around the needs of the 320 adolescent and adult patients and the 1,200 administrative and clinical staff members. Once the new facility was fully equipped, STV oversaw the transition for patients and staff into the new building.
