The reimagining of LaGuardia Airport continues to earn national attention. Engineering News-Record (ENR) New York has named Delta Air Lines’ Terminal C redevelopment its “Best New York Project” for 2025, recognizing the team’s delivery of one of the region’s most ambitious aviation programs.
STV was honored as part of the Turner Construction/STV–Satterfield & Pontikes (S&P) construction management team, which provided program and construction management services for the multi-year effort to transform Delta’s footprint at LaGuardia. The project delivered a new 1.3-million-square-foot terminal complex, featuring a modern headhouse, new concourses, upgraded roadways and state-of-the-art passenger amenities, as part of the airport’s broader redevelopment program.
ENR highlighted the scale and technical demands of the project, which required intricate phasing around active airport operations, an accelerated delivery schedule and extensive coordination among Delta, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and multiple contractors and stakeholders. The project also incorporated advanced digital tools, such as 4D scheduling and digital twin modeling, to keep construction aligned with the client’s operational needs.
The completed terminal now features expanded concessions, improved circulation, new technology for seamless travel and amenities that elevate the passenger experience.
Luis Delgado, president of program management/construction management at STV, said the honor reflects the significance of the project and the dedication of the team that delivered it.
“Being part of a program that reshapes one of the nation’s most recognizable airports is a tremendous privilege,” Delgado said. “This recognition from ENR speaks to the talent, collaboration and commitment our team brought to Terminal C. We are proud to have contributed to a project that will serve travelers and the region for decades to come.”
