The PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, designed and delivered with support from STV, recently received the Innovation Award at the March of Dimes Philadelphia Transportation, Building & Construction Luncheon.

The annual event brings together members of the region’s transportation, building and construction industries to recognize notable projects and leaders while raising support for March of Dimes, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies through research, programs, education and advocacy.

The recognition follows the terminal’s opening in August, which established a permanent home for cruise operations in Philadelphia and marked the return of cruise service to the city after more than 15 years. The Port of Philadelphia (PhilaPort) developed the terminal in partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH), transforming an existing PhilaPort facility into a passenger terminal that supports secure passenger processing and long-term cruise operations.

STV provided architecture, engineering, construction monitoring and owner’s representative services for the project under its longstanding architect/engineer task-order relationship with PhilaPort. That established partnership allowed the team to mobilize quickly and support an accelerated delivery schedule while coordinating closely with PhilaPort, NCLH, regulatory agencies and other project partners.
