CHARLOTTE, NC – STV today announced that Brock LaForty, AICP, has joined the firm as senior vice president and regional development director. He will help lead transportation development efforts across the Southern U.S., where population growth and infrastructure investment are driving increased demand for transit, rail and highway programs.
LaForty brings more than 30 years of experience advancing transportation programs and leading strategic pursuits across the Southeast, with expertise spanning transit, rail and highway programs, as well as alternative delivery. He has led complex pursuits and built long-term client relationships with state departments of transportation and major metropolitan agencies. He returns to STV after previously leading the firm’s national planning practice, where he helped expand its transportation portfolio and strengthen delivery across multiple regions. His combination of institutional knowledge and external leadership experience positions him to accelerate STV’s growth in the South.

In his new role, LaForty will focus on expanding client relationships, advancing strategic pursuits and positioning STV to capture major transportation opportunities across the region. His appointment supports the firm’s broader strategy to expand into high-growth geographies and strengthen its presence in evolving infrastructure markets.
LaForty earned a bachelor’s degree in geography and environmental studies from the State University of New York at Geneseo and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
