STV’s Luis Delgado, president, Program Management/Construction Management (PM/CM), and Kim Vierheilig, president, Buildings, have been elected to the prestigious National Academy of Construction (NAC) as part of its Class of 2025 cohort. Delgado and Vierheilig will be formally inducted at the NAC’s Annual Meeting in October in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“Election to the National Academy of Construction is a high professional honor and is to be conferred with care on those few, most qualified candidates,” the NAC announced in a statement. “Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to the effectiveness of the construction industry over a period of several years and who are recognized as the industry leaders by his or her peers.”

Delgado, who was cited as a “visionary leader leveraging technology for innovation, championing workforce development through mentorship and advocating for diverse generational talent to strengthen the construction industry,” is being inducted in the “Contractor” category. Vierheilig, honored as a “pioneering architectural leader advancing innovation, sustainability and equity in the built environment, while mentoring emerging professionals and promoting industry excellence nationwide,” is being inducted as a “Designer.”

Delgado joined STV in 2021. As president of STV’s PM/CM group, he oversees a team that provides both public- and private-sector clients with program, project and construction management services across multiple market sectors. He has more than 30 years of industry experience and is the current chair of the Construction Management Association of America as well as a board member and past chair of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association in Texas.

“I’m truly humbled to be selected,” Delgado said. “This recognition is both an honor and a responsibility to continue building, growing and paying it forward in the AEC industry. I owe immense thanks to my current former teams, colleagues and industry board partners who have guided, challenged and believed in me.”

Vierheilig, who joined STV in 2022, oversees all aspects of STV’s buildings programming, planning, architecture, interior design and multidisciplinary engineering. She’s a registered architect with more than 25 years of experience in the industry and serves on boards for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) New York City Post, Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, New Jersey Alliance for Action and the ACE Mentor Program of America, as well as on the board of trustees at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the advisory board for NJIT’s Hiller College of Architecture and Design.

“It’s an incredible honor to be elected by the National Academy of Construction,” Vierheilig said. “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about advancing design excellence while creating opportunities for equity and mentorship both among my peers and for the next generation of professionals. I’m proud to join a community that shares these values and is committed to driving progress in the AEC industry.”

Founded in 1999, the NAC is an organization of industry leaders including construction users, constructors, engineers, architects, consultants, attorneys, sureties, editors and academics, who have made outstanding, lifelong contributions to the construction industry.

In addition to honoring the personal contributions of its members, the NAC provides its leadership and expertise to a variety of organizations governmental and nongovernmental, for the betterment of the industry and the nation.
