CTrail Hartford Line

Running between New Haven, CT, and Springfield, MA, the Hartford Line is Connecticut’s newest passenger rail service provides a reliable and practical alternative for commuters along the Interstate 91 corridor. The line serves nine stations along the 62-mile route and includes 27 miles of new second track, passing sidings and five new interlockings.

STV served as a subconsultant to WSP USA on the $650 million project providing preliminary design engineering and final design oversight as well as construction services for three new stations along with the track work, grade crossings, and bridge and culvert improvements. The firm also took on the quality assurance and quality control services for final designs to see that work was in compliance with Federal Railroad Administration standards.

A new commuter rail service better connects Connecticut riders within the state and across the border to Massachusetts.
