The I-35 NEX program – consisting of North, Central and South projects – encompasses the construction of two elevated structures that will carry two general purpose lanes and one high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction. This expansion will improve safety and mobility while reducing commute times for the estimated 130,000 vehicles traveling on the 19.5 miles of roadway each day.
STV was selected to provide construction, engineering and inspection (CEI) services for the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) program’s North project. For the North project, STV will provide roadway construction inspection, materials testing, project documentation and regulatory compliance support for 6.4 miles of the highway.
Once completed, the project will bring infrastructure improvements to make San Antonio safer, more connected, and more efficient for commuters.
