The Joint Health Sciences Center (JHSC) in downtown Camden, NJ, is a prime example of the city’s resurgence as a hub for medical research and education. The 125,000-square-foot facility was the result of a partnership between three of New Jersey’s leading academic institutions – Rowan University, Rutgers-Camden University and the Camden County College – and serves as an advanced research and medical training facility.
STV served as owner’s representative for the $70 million project and provided construction management services. The building was designed by HOK to encourage students from multiple academic disciplines to work collaboratively with shared laboratories, equipment, classrooms and “soft spaces” such as cafes and study areas.
