Lockheed Martin Corporation’s (LMC) new Cyber Center of Excellence creates and deploys some of the most advanced cyber solutions for the intelligence community. The program transformed two floors of an existing building into a 56,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art secure workspace—a strategic investment for Lockheed Martin to reinforce its commitment to its diverse federal government customers.
STV performed architectural, interior and engineering design, including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection services for the new facility, which maximizes LMC’s ability to rapidly develop solutions for its customers’ most crucial missions. Nearly 90% of the facility was designed and constructed to meet secure workspace requirements. The Advanced Innovation Center—a key component of the new center—is a flexible team meeting space accommodating both secure and non-secure activities to foster collaboration across customers, industry partners and LMC employees.
This highly technical project was designed in just 16 weeks, from concept through “issued for construction,” on time and within LMC’s budget. Demonstrating its sustainable design priorities, the project achieved LEED® Gold certification.
